Thailand Visa for Indians
Thailand provides Visa On Arrival for Indian Tourists. The VISA ON ARRIVAL allows passport holders of 19* countries to enter Thailand under this rule provided that they meet these requirements:
• The visit is strictly for tourism purposes.
• The passport must be genuine and should be valid for at least 30 days.
• You must have a valid address in Thailand whether a hotel or apartment that can be verified.
• You must have a confirmed return ticket to show that they are flying out of Thailand within 15 days of entry. Dummy tickets do not qualify.
• Travelling overland out of Thailand by train, bus, etc to Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia (including en route to Singapore), Myanmar, etc is not accepted as proof of exiting Thailand. You may be asked to show your flight ticket on entering Thailand. If you do not possess a flight ticket to show that you will be exiting Thailand within 15 days of entry you will be most likely refused entry.
• It will also be necessary to prove that you have funds of at least 10,000 THB per person and 20,000 THB per family during your stay in Thailand.
• A fee of 2,000 THB is payable upon entry and is subject to change without notice. It must be paid in cash and Thai currency only.
Another option is Thailand Single Entry E-Visa:
This can be applied online and you can get a visa with in 72 Hrs. Once the eVisa is approved, Indians have a month (30 days) to enter Thailand before the eVisa expires and you can stay upto 15 days from the date of entry.
The following personal documents and information are required when applying for Thailand eVisa as an Indian passport holder:
• A valid and up-to-date Indian passport. Ensure it is valid for a minimum of 30 days from your arrival date in Thailand.
• A digital image of the passport cover and the passport’s biographical page.
• A credit or debit card, to pay the Thailand eVisa processing fee.
• An email address. This is required as the approved Thailand eVisa will be sent to this address as an attachment, which you must print out and bring with you to Thailand.
• Airline tickets for your arrival and departure. This can be an image or copy.
Language
Thai is the national and official language. It is a tonal language with different dialects. Its script was created in 1283 by King Ramkhamhaeng the Great of the Sukhothai Kingdom. Other languages spoken include Chinese and Malay. English, a compulsory subject of secondary school curricula, is widely spoken and understood throughout the country.
